Preparing a collector-car storage facility for an installation visit

A well-planned visit respects the facility’s routine, the owner’s privacy and the installer’s need to assess the individual hypercar. Preparation begins before anyone arrives.

Start with permission and a named contact

Confirm that the owner or authorised representative has approved the proposed work. Establish who can accept a quotation and who will answer any questions on the day. The storage team can coordinate the appointment without being expected to make decisions outside its agreed role.

Name a site contact and explain the facility’s normal visitor arrangements directly to the installer. Keep gate instructions, private addresses and access information out of public correspondence or marketing material. Share only the details needed for the agreed appointment.

Discuss the workspace before committing a slot

Describe the proposed work area and ask the installer what the specific vehicle and installation require. Space, access, lighting, indoor working arrangements and the ability to keep the car available all belong in this conversation. A premium storage environment may still need a different area for installation work.

Agree any site induction, sign-in requirements and restrictions before the visit. If a car needs to be moved within the facility, establish who is authorised to move it. A prepared workspace should support the agreed job without disrupting other owners’ vehicles.

Allow for an individual vehicle assessment

Two cars in the same collection may need different products or installation approaches. Provide the exact model and build year, along with any existing security information available from the owner. Mark uncertain details as questions to resolve.

Do not promise an owner that a particular system will fit solely because an installer has worked on another hypercar. The equipment, vehicle and proposed work must be assessed together. If a delivery deadline is involved, mention it early so that scheduling can be discussed realistically.

Plan the end of the visit

Decide who will receive the demonstration, documentation and any information needed for provider activation. If the owner is absent, arrange a clear route for their own handover. Ask who will confirm that each agreed action has been completed.

Where the car is due to leave for servicing or transport soon afterwards, discuss the relevant handover procedure with the owner and security provider. Storage staff should have the information appropriate to their role, while sensitive owner credentials remain private.

The storage-partner visit checklist

  • Owner approval and a person authorised to answer questions.
  • Confirmed vehicle details and equipment requirements.
  • Agreed workspace and site access arrangements.
  • A named contact available during the appointment.
  • A realistic window when the vehicle will remain available.
  • Handover recipient and responsibility for activation, where needed.
  • Any planned onward movement after installation.
